I used to be able to access the Google Photos app within Instagram and select photos from there. Now, on my Samsung Galaxy S24, I only have the option to select from the gallery. The problem is most/all of my photos are not in my Samsung Gallery app but in Google Photos. How do I get this feature working again so that I don't have to download what I want from Google Photos?

Gallery Apps are just essentially viewers. Photos / videos are not stored in any Gallery app, they are stored on the device, and as I said, Gallery Apps are just viewers. I have Samsung's Gallery, F-Stop Gallery, Google Gallery & QuickPic Mod Gallery on my devices. I have the same photos / videos available regardless which Gallery app I open.

Check the permissions for Samsung's Gallery & Instagram. If both have reciprocal permissions, then you should be able to use any Gallery app installed with Instagram.

Hi asafsaf,

If your Google Photos are not showing on Instagram, ensure that you have the latest version of both the Google Photos and Instagram apps. Additionally, check your device's permissions to ensure that both apps have access to your photo gallery.
