Is it true that within the first week of turning on the new device, it learns the user's behaviors, on-off time, sleep time, and productivity level and determines how it optimally works?

When I first have the phone, I turned on power saving mode, use only when I needed, and 80% battery could lasts me a day. But what if I changed my mind, turning off the power saving mode so I can enjoy the 120Hz motion smoothness? Will this phone adapt to my new behaviour or it will drain my battery so much?

Thanks

Technically, 120Hz motion smoothness WILL indeed be more power-consuming. Which is why, in Samsung devices, it uses "adaptive" (not static) to adjust the refresh rate automatically for optimal efficiency.

As for the adaptive usage, I think you mean "adaptive battery." You can find the settings on: battery > background usage limits > tap 3 dots on the right corner

Secondly, the thing about "adaptive" is that it means it'll learn to adapt your usage behaviors so the power (and battery) could be better optimized for you. BUT, it is "adapting," which means it technically will consume more resources while your device is being adapted. How long? Honestly, I don't know. Some say it will only take a week; others say you'll need longer than that. AFTER the "learning" is complete, your device should be better, hopefully.

Just try it. Do it or don't do it; you will both regret it. At least by doing it, you'll know the difference.

Hi, Thanks for the detailed explanation! I agree, adaptive refresh rate and adaptive battery are designed to optimize performance and power usage. It makes sense that the device needs time to learn my usage habits for better efficiency. I guess I’ll give it a shot and see if it makes a noticeable difference in battery life. I appreciate the insights!

yes, your phone will always learn your pattern but it needs 1 - 2 days to re-learn your habit

so if you change your habit your phone will drain faster at first because this little thing needs to adapt, once your phone understand that you changed pattern then your phone should last same like your previous pattern

the thing is, it's kinda complicated to explain ngl, so example you always open whatsapp Business from 8 AM - 5 PM and suddenly thanks to your night shift you changed pattern open WhatsApp business from 7PM - 4 AM, your phone need time to re-learn your habit, the problem is if you keep changing working shift 😂

well this is just a small example, tbh there are other factors how phone adapt to your routine, i will just let my phone do its thing for me

ah, I see! that makes sense. it’s kind of like teaching the phone a new routine, and it takes time to adjust. I guess if I keep changing habits, it might keep draining until it figures it out. I’ll just choose new routine and let it adapt for a while and see how it goes. hopefully it could last a day and I don't have to charge twice. thanks for the example, it helps clarify how the phone learns our patterns!
