I regret to inform you that my S23 Ultra, which I submitted for a trade-up on January 30thhl has still not been processed yet, nor have I received the $970 refund. 
Despite the phone being in impeccable condition, with no discernible flaws, I have not received any updates or communication regarding the status of my trade-up.

Regrettably, this appears to be a recurring issue with Asurion, prompting me to consider filing a report under the Fair Trading Act here in Australia. I would appreciate any additional information or experiences from others who may have encountered similar situations.

It's illegal to take more than a 10% holding deposit. Your best bet is to do a chargeback with your bank and cancel your card. The refund will be given to you from the bank and you won't have to worry. If the bank doesn't help, send a warning to asurion advising on your next steps.

Have you checked the tracking and confirmed it has arrived?
I've been watching my return, and AusPost has been doing laps around South Western Sydney with mine before finally delivering it yesterday 🤦

Also, you can log into the Asurion portal to check the status:

Enter the email address you used when doing the trade, and they will send you a security code to complete login.

Mine either and when i try to call, it tells me to check the number and try again, the same number I called onntheb26th of Jan and spoke to someone on. Mines not.for a trade up though it's for replacement of broken phone through samsung care plus

I sent mine in and can't even track it. Doesn't say scanned at all so not sure what's happening

Did you get the proof of lodgement from the post office when you handed over the parcel?

I took mine to the PO on Wednesday afternoon, and there was no tracking until Friday am 🤦 ♂️

Then my return did laps around Sth Western Sydney before being delivered yesterday.

Yay Auspost 🤬

At the very least, tracking should show Auspost has it.

I don't have anything, the lady scanned the code. I packed it very well and attached all correspondence with it and I can't track anything. I've just blocked asurion, not worth the headache. I have the 24 they can have my s22 and shove it

You're meant to get/ask for the proof of lodgement, as per the email Asurion sent you.
If you still have the email, you can get the tracking number from there, or you can go to the portal and check the status

I don't have any instructions to get a proof of lodgement. I have a receipt to say I sent it but that's it. I guess that's proof I sent it. The worst they can do is not refund me I guess if It lost.
