I can't believe that the Oreo update removed custom text message sounds. this needs to be fixed. now I can't tell who is texting me when I'm driving. so I don't know whether to pull over or not.

I'm surprised this is allegedly removed...that doesn't make any sense

You know that you can use Google Assistant to read you your texts - "ok google.. Read my last (or whatever you want) text" and Google Assistant will read it 🤙🐧

@ShaggyskunkS7, I think @GaltorM is referring to being able to set a custom notification text message sound for individual contacts, which was a feature on Nougat and was removed on Oreo, it let's you know who texted you just by the notification sound, I also can't believe they removed it in Oreo, Samsung please bring it back.

@GaltorM, alternatively you can use Android Messages for text, if I'm not mistaken you can set custom notifications for different contacts.

@Cprice yeah I understood that - I was only thinking of an alternative to individual notification tones - If you don't know who the text is from you can just listen to it without having to pull over (if driving) because the text regardless of who it's from can just be read to you 😊

I agree .... I had many different sounds for different people so I knew who it was without needing to look at my phone. I want it back
