Camera failed error

I am getting the Camera Failed error message on my 1 month old s24 Ultra. My default samsung camera app no longer works, showing only a black screen for front or back camera, and the settings tab (and all others) can not be pressed. Strangely, the front camera does work in video calls. I tried clearing the data and cache in Settings>Apps>Camera>Storage but thus did nothing. I also reset the app in Settings>Apps>Camera>Camera Settings, which also did nothing. It says I am running the latest version of the app, and I have the latest software update for the phone as well. Turning the phone off, then on again does nothing. I feel like a factory reset is my only option now, but I would really rather not do that if I don't have to. Any thoughts?

Before you Factory Reset, open the Samsung Members app & Click on Support & Phone Diagnostics. Run the Diagnostics for the Camera. See if you get any error messages? 

It's possible that it's a hardware issue, and a Factory Reset will not fix this.

I did that, and it said Camera Issues Detected, and Action Required. No other detail was provided

Then I'd suggest that you visit a Samsung Service Centre to get it checked out by a tech.

Unfortunately, the issue is still there as suggested by RedDogRabbit, please get the device examined by the service technician to get it fixed.
