I'm also very curious about that. Looked really great for creating content and going on trips, I was looking into grabbing one back when I did Tree Treking because I thought it would be cool for that but had to settle with a GoPro due to the very high cost of it.

I do see expert's reviewing but the thing is I am a simple user and when it comes to photography and videography. Would love to see what user have to say about that camera.

Had a chance to play with it. It's nice and small to carry around, definitely great to document your adventures in 360 video (and photos) especially with the right third party accessories (like tripod or helmet stand). With VR viewing growing in popularity this is definitely a good way to dive into it by creating your own 360 content. It's actually cheaper than the 1st generation. There's not many 360 camera options out right now so I think this is one of the better choices.

been playing with it for a week. easy to use. my key annoyance is difficulty finding latest action director software. I would like to see HDR timelapse functionality. Surprised how little community input there is. i got mine fairly cheap 262 CAD.

I got my 2nd gen used for $65USD, which was $106CAD, listing price is $350CAD at telus. I've used mine regularly and heroes my issues on S8 (which I just got a month ago as well)
1. 360 app crashes a lot when trying to connect to the cam
2. video is split into 10:02 segments. I have about 25 mins I need to recover, now I have to merge the videos where the 3 stops happened and possibly suffer content loss. no easy options, if any, to fix this. Its probably because 10 mins is about 2GB of data and to prevent huge files, but I want to make them smaller for easier transfers. 2GB for 10 mins. So I buy a 256GB card, camera wont write more than 30 seconds, just says "SD Card too slow..." and freezes.
3. It records to a SD card in the cam. when I try to download the video via the app gallery, which is how it's done, it won't transfer any of my larger videos, specifically the ones that are 10:02. Ones that are 2-5 mins are okay usually. Common sense says just put the SD card in the phone or a PC, so I did. But then I'm left with video with two circles, one per camera. It's not user friendly for videos. I tried to edit the dual video with Videopad by cropping and joining as needed then saved it as a smaller file and put it back into the camera in hopes that my video would merge to 360, but then the camera wouldn't recognize the edited video.
I downloaded a app, VeeR Editor to join the edited duals but they came out wonky due to aspect ratios or something.
I tried everything I can and am waiting to hear from support.
Livestream only works to their service. It offers YouTube and Facebook streaming but YouTube keeps crashing, Facebook freezes, and theirs is hard to share to friends on social media.
if you dont have a proper tripod you wont get a video without a human in it. you have to raise it above you to keep yourself out of the image but still require a good VR image editing software such as what I use, Pano2Vr which leaves watermarks unless you pay $200USD for a pro, $100 USD for basic licensing.
if you want this camera, it's good to be tech savvy, this isn't for people who can barely use a computer or phone. I've had A LOT of technical issues and had many challenges to try to circumvent.
Theres also the issue that you need their Samsung devices for it to be Compatible. you cant use your LG phone. So of you dont have a Samsung you can still use it but you miss out on certain features, like stabilization. You just need a PC and special software and know how to use it without.
and you get ONE scuff on it, there goes $100-$400. At market value that's a $350CAD loss. Buy $200 software for images, $350 for the camera, $100 for video editing and that's almost $1,000 to use this cam (including monopods, tripods, protective covers, etc)
I plan to get really into this, enough to do it for a business model, but for an average use camera, I give 2 stars. The HD video is poor quality and if I scratch this lens as easily as the 1st gen one I just returned, I'm DONE with this product. Novel idea but definitely needs a lot of improvement before being worth their current market value
