Hi there,

One of the main reasons I use Samsung is for the consistently dependable phone camera, but I'm no longer having that experience with the app's performance and interface.

The shutter button is no longer responsive immediately. When I tap the shutter button, it is delayed in processing that I want to take a picture. I'm on the s10e with the latest update and have never had this issue with my s6 or s8. I just updated to the latest available software, because when there's a moment I wanted to capture, I'd press the button like 10 times and get 1-2 photos of that, in some cases. After updating it doesn't feel any different. I am a photographer, so understand that this is software and not hardware or camera settings... Even if I were shooting at 1/2 shutter speed, I expect the shutter to open as soon as I press the button.

Also, the new sound for the shutter sounds like the sound of stopping a video recording in my humble opinion.

Ideas?

You could start by clearing the cache & data for the camera. To do this, go to settings > apps > camera > storage & clear both & Reboot.

Test to see if this fixes the issue 🤞

If not, then I'd try Booting into Recovery and wipe cache from there & test again.

If the problem persists, then I'd backup your phone with smart switch & factory reset.

You'll need to make sure that you have all your passwords BEFORE you factory reset.

If it's a software issue, then it *SHOULD* be cleared up, unless the issue was created by the last update to your phone. If that's the case, then you could either go to a Samsung Service center or wait for the next update.
