In settings | connections I'm not finding volte switch options to turn it on and off for the physical Sim in slot 1. Can someone advice how do I make it visible?

I feel like we've had this discussed before in the past. Essentially it's inbuilt and always on.

In the phone apps you can activate wifi calling too

Really. In iPhone the volte on off switch is pretty much available. Just wondering why it is not there in galaxy phones any idea?

I think it's just one of those that you just turn on and leave. No point convoluting the settings (like iphone) with unnecessary options. It's not like you'll turn them off and on.

That is the problem I am facing. My current location is in a Regional area where there is no 4G and VoLte. Since this setting is always on the backend I cannot turn it off. For this reason I'm having problems with outgoing SMS. It is getting bounced. In iPhone it is working fine as I can switch it off. In my s22 ultra it's a problem. Any further advice?

Hmm, volte is just for calls, not sms. I'm not sure why turning volte on/off would impact sms, as volte is Voice over LTE (ie, not messaging).

If there is no network (some providers have turned off 3G), then that may impact sms being sent. If this is the issue, changing to another provider may work (ie, telstra).

Iphone imessage can use wifi for it to work (instead of over the network). Do you have RCS activated in your messaging app? Try the google messages app instead of the Samsung one; turn on rcs in settings.

Yes RCS activated. I am using Google messages app. I still get error 0 while sending SMS.

That's strange, as rcs can do sms via wifi as well as data. Might not work if the person doesn't have rcs activated, that may be another reason.

Another solution is switching network so you have signal where you are.

Volte is not the cause of your sms issue though.

Hope Vodafone will fix it soon at network side if nothing is there to change in the phone settings

Ah vodafone...is pretty useless everywhere except the main cities.

You can try getting a boost sim to test (get a new number) and you should see a huge difference.

We went camping somewhere and I was the only one who had reception (optus, voda).

Yes, volte should be already turned on by default. When I'm out and about, I can see the volte sign at the top.
