I have a new Samsung S20 FE phone and am unable to figure how to do a screen capture.
On my Galaxy 7 I used the Power On/Off button at the bottom of the phone and the Volume button on the side.
On the new phone, the Power button is just below the Volume on the right side. If I press both of these together, it displays the Power Off Screen.

Have you tried Volume down + power at the same time? Don't hold them down but just quickly press both simultaneously.

Yes I do either the quick press of the volume down and power button or slide my palm across the screen...although the palm slide feature needs to be turned on in settings

You can also ask Bixby (if turned on) or google assistant to take a screenshot just to see if it works.

Hi EdieKelly, Use the following methods to capture a screenshot. You can view the captured screenshots in
Gallery.
Method 1) Key capture: Press the Side key and the Volume Down key simultaneously.
Method 2) Swipe capture: Swipe your hand to the left or right across the screen.
• It is not possible to capture a screenshot while using some apps and features.
• If capturing a screenshot by swiping is not activated, launch the Settings app, tap
Advanced features → Motions and gestures, and then tap the Palm swipe to
capture switch to activate it.

I've always just said "Hi Bixby" and then "take a screenshot ".
It's easy, quick and it works every time.
