It's been awhile and decided to just get a new phone over fixing a swollen battery issue with the S10e at EoL. Was debating on either S24 or S24U as a replacement. Eventually decided for the S24U with 1TB in the end and pass down my Note 10+ for my mom to use as she does use the S Pen a bit on her Tab S6.

My old Note 8 is still kicking with my sister, but it's seen better days (she's destroyed the UAG Monach case I had on it of all things). With that in mind, I have to admit Samsung phones are built to last and I really have no issues with them. I just have issues with Samsung's decisions to remove things and not adding any real value to the consumer.

Still sealed in box and quite impressed with how fast I got the device. Ordered May 16th and just arrived today (they noted it may be 2-3 weeks to fulfill due to high demand). I'm waiting for the screen protector (amFilm) and case (Spigen Tough Armor) to arrive as of now. Might do the usual first use things like hard reset prior to playing with it. If all looks good, hard reset again and get onto to business with Smart Switch. At least software updates have been prolonged, so don't expect to replace this anytime soon at the very least.

Congrats on the new S24 Ultra. Samsung is a great company. They should bring back the 3.5mm headphone jack and the MST for Samsung wallet but other then that, Samsung is nice🔥🔥

As well as expanded memory... At least for me.

Adjusting to this phone is going to take some time. The location of the buttons and SPen are flipped compared to Note 10+. I find myself using my thumb and pressing empty space on the side. Then I remember to use my index and middle finger to press the buttons instead. Same with S Pen I'm automatically reaching and hitting empty space before it clicks in my head it's on the other side of the phone. LOL

Only thing I don't like so far is the Spigen case. Corners are too sharp and dig into my palms when I have it nestled to type. It's too sharp. Wish it was more rounded.

But so far it's working. No issues I can find after running the internal diagnostic tools on the S24U. Sensors all work and passed. S Pen tests passed. No dead pixels spotted. All cameras functional. Flash works, etc. But what I really love about it is the flat screen. I'm glad it's back. I was never a fan of the curved screens tbh.

It's a little heavier and size is not that much more bigger compared to the Note 10+. The S Pen is not easy to slide out though. I guess that's a plus if I drop it, the S Pen won't launch out like it does on my Note 10+. I'm clumsy.
