Default browser

My default browser automatically reverts back to Samsung internet after I set it to Chrome. Any ideas why it would keep reverting?

Samsung Internet, as well as Firefox etc, will periodically ask you if you want to use it as the Default Browser, so if you inadvertently click on "OK / Yes", then it will become the default browser. 

If you want to always have the choice about which browser is used, follow these steps:

Choose an installed browser that could be uninstalled, ie: Firefox, and set it as the default browser.  Google Chrome couldn't be uninstalled, as it's a System app, so don't choose it. 
Delete the default browser, in this example, Firefox. 
Check that opening a link in email, for example, asks which browser to use, there should not be a default browser now.
Reinstall Firefox, if you still want it. 

Now when you click on a link, you should always have the choice of which browser you want to use.

Hi red dog, thanks for the response here. Unfortunately that is not the case here. The default browser changes back without any action or prompt from me. It changes back the second I exit the settings app.

What device & One UI version is running on your device?

Try my suggestion, and you should see this in Settings > Apps > Samsung Internet as there is no default browser set on my device.

It should not automatically revert, it's been like this on my phone "forever".

Go to Settings & Search "Default" & post the screen shot.

It should look like mine.. AFTER you did what I suggested in my first post here.

Hi, we suggest you to try safe mode and check if it still reverts back to Samsung Internet.
To enter Safe Mode, please perform the following:
1.First, completely power off the phone.
2.Then, power on the phone and when the Samsung logo appears, press and hold down the Volume down key.
3.If done correctly, "Safe Mode" will display on the bottom left corner of the screen.
If "Safe Mode" does not appear, repeat the steps above.
4.Once you are in Safe Mode, you can remove the third-party app that is causing issues on your phone.
5.To exit Safe Mode, simply restart your phone and it will reboot normally.

Well, if they try Safe Mode it will disable all 3rd party apps, so which 3rd party app (which will be disabled) do you propose that the have, to see if it reverts back to Samsung Internet? 🤔
