I would just like to know why Samsung has made this decision? Hoping someone knows the answer and can share it.

I imagine the mobile division update meeting to go something like...
-Ok, how can we mess with our users? Let's have a quick brain storm around the table.
-Uh, we can take away vertical app drawer scrolling.
-We've done that already Ju-won.
-How about we actually put in features users have been requesting?
-Look Do-yun. I've had just about enough of your not being a team player. Get on board or we'll have to take this up with hr.
-Ok, sir. Sorry. We can remove the edge panels on the one ui7 update.
-Brilliant. Just brilliant. That's the spirit. And exactly the kind of team spirit I want to see. Let's do it.
(But all in Korean)

Personally, with trends lately, I think it's all to do with Google not Samsung internally.
Samsung Messages,
Fold SE - no S-Pen Support,
S25U - no wireless S-Pen gestures.
^ whom stands to gain from this besides overall competition?
Google and their Pixel products - which REALLY should NOT exist as it fully makes them a monopoly by every definition of the word!

This was and had been communicated months ago. Is you don't have edge panels installed when upgraded, then they're gone!

Thanks, I must have missed that. I managed to save the edge panel for Samsung Notes.

🙏 glad you got your edge panel saved. I'm perplexed why Samsung made this choice yet with aligning too heavily with Google on their platform with Samsung's UI.

I see lots of Google meddling going on here and it's sadly going to continue as this Monipoly continues to get away with their practices without any justice.

And yes I DO mean Monopoly as I fully know the definition of the word.
