Your emails will arrive to your inbox in a solid black print. Once you tap on them and have finished reading them, exit all the way back to your inbox and then they should be grey. I have Outlook for my email provider. After I read them they turn grey and I know that I have already seen and dealt with them.

That used to be the case. BUT this afternoon it stopped working. Now I read the emails, go back to the inbox ... but the email remains dark black.

This may be something to try. On the email, try pressing it firmly again and then exit. Hopefully this might work.

No luck. This is very strange.

Thanx for trying. Any other suggestions from anyone?

I am not sure what else to suggest. If Another Samsung Member has a solution, that may be an assistance.

Which email app are you using?

Are you using any Themes?

Gmail Unread is white text & turns grey after being read.

You can try going to Settings > Apps Search for email app you are using & Click on it & Scroll down to Storage & Clear Both Cache & Data for the app. Reboot.

You won't lose your emails, they will be repopulated by the servers.

Hi Tlew, two other simple fixes include clearing the Email app cache (or data) and signing out and signing in again. Could you let us know if it still does not work?
