Samsung’s exact plans for bringing Android 11 to its smartphones remain unknown, for now, but you can be certain that the Galaxy S20 series will be among the first to receive the update. The first clues hinting that Samsung has started developing Android 11 for the Galaxy S20 emerged in July, while earlier this month the Galaxy S20+ was also spotted in an online benchmark running Android 11. And if you need another bit of evidence to support that the new OS version is underway, here it is: the Galaxy S20+ running Android 11 was recently benchmarked on HTML5test.

In addition to the newer Android OS version, the HTML benchmark also revealed that the Galaxy S20+ in testing was running Samsung Internet 13.0. This version has yet to be released to the public, as Samsung Internet has just made the jump to version 12.1.2.5 this week. We don’t know what version 13.0 brings to the table but either way, the Galaxy S20+ that was tested running this combination of firmware and software scored 469 points out of a maximum of 555 in HTML5test.

Samsung hasn’t made any announcements as to when it might provide a more open beta version of Android 11 to Galaxy S20 owners, but One UI 3.0 based on Android 11 entered the pre-beta phase earlier this month, allowing a small number of applicants in South Korea and the USA to register for testing. But if history is any indication, the first Android 11 beta build should land on the Galaxy S20 lineup in or around October.
