I'm using an Anker 313 and a compatible 5A cable, so I know 45W charging is possible. It displays "Super Fast Charging 2.0".

However, whenever I plug it in when the battery is low, it charges at 45W with the turquoise charging animation for a minute, but then it stops for a second and displays the green charging animation with "Fast Charging" as the text.

If I unplug and plug it back in, it goes back to "Super Fast Charging 2.0" and stays there.

Why does the phone drop down to "Fast Charging" initially and is there a way to keep it at "Super Fast Charging 2.0"?

Well, Samsung's Moderators will tell you that you have to use Samsung's OEM Charging Block & USB cable...which isn't true.

Anker is a reputable brand as well!

You could try a couple of things:

  • Open the Samsung Members app & Click on "Support" & Phone Diagnostics. Run the Diagnostics for USB Charging & see if you get any error messages?
  • Boot into Recovery & Wipe Cache.

See if that gets you pointed in the right direction?

Hi, we would like to inform you that different types of chargers have varied power outputs.

  • It's highly recommended to use Samsung authorized adapters and cables for optimal performance and safety.

Please note that, Samsung does not guarantee the compatibility of third-party chargers.

Anker 45 W Charger should be perfect for Super Fast Charging... Too bad that Samsung decided to no longer include the Charging Block.. for "environmental reasons".. 🙄

As predicted by RedDogRabbit, Samsung steps in with a CYA post. To bad they can't meet better use of their time and answer some of the more difficult questions their users post.
