Hi, My Gmail are late on locked screen and sometimes no notification until I open the phone. I have already done checked all notifications on Gmail App and also:

  1. Disabled Adaptive Battery setting

  2. Disabled Put unused apps to sleep

  3. Disabled Power Saving

  4. Set individual app's battery usage to Unrestricted

Still problems. It is a new mobile only 2 weeks old and problem from day 1

Need also to make sure that Sync is on. With Sync being on, Gmail will automatically refresh its inbox sending you notifications about what's new.

Hello YC2022,

Thanks for your inquiry here.

If you have accounts in the Gmail app, you will need to change settings as follows:

A) First, ensure that your device is up-to-date with the latest Software updates.

Settings > About Phone > Software Updates > Download and Install > Follow On-screen instructions.

B) Turn on Notifications & choose your settings.

Step 1. Open the Gmail app.

Step 2. In the top left, tap Menu.

Step 3. Tap Settings.

Step 4. Select your account.

Step 5. Tap Notifications and select a notification level.

Step 6. Tap Manage notifications. Under your selected account, make sure the switch is set to On.

Step 7. Choose your notification settings, including sounds.

C) Change notification settings for certain labels.

Step 1. Open the Gmail app.

Step 2. In the top left, tap Menu.

Step 3. Tap Settings.

Step 4. Select your account.

Step 5. Manage Labels.

Step 6. Tap one your labels, like Important.

Step 7. Tap Sync messages > Last 30 days or all. If you don't sync messages, you can't turn on notifications for that label.

Step 8. Choose your notification settings for that label. Repeat this for any labels you want to get notifications for.

D) If not getting any notifications.

If you don't see your notifications, follow the steps above to turn on notifications. If that doesn't help, try these steps:

Step 1. Open the Gmail app.

Step 2. In the top left, tap Menu.

Step 3. Tap Settings.

Step 4. Select your account.

Step 5. Make sure the box next to "Sync Gmail" is checked.

Hope this content is helpful.
