In My google play music when I open it on the top it says "background restriction is on" it won't connect to my Bluetooth devices. How do I turn background restriction off.   I have a Samsung s9. Thanks.

Background restriction means it won't consume mobile data in the background, not that it can't connect to Bluetooth devices. What happens when you try to pair a Bluetooth device?

Hi glider,

As said by CHMultimedia, Background restriction won't consume mobile data in the background and it is not a problem to connect the Bluetooth devices.

Please make sure the Bluetooth device is within the range and in the pairing mode.

Go to Settings >> Connections >> Phone visibility >> Activate it.

When connecting it, make sure the devices are within 5-10 feet of each other to get a better experience.

Then Perform clear cache and clear data for the Bluetooth.

Go to settings>> Apps>> Bluetooth>> Clear cache and clear data.

Also keep in mind Google Play music is coming to an end as of October in Canada and it is being merged with YouTube Music.
