I have a S24 I have been using Google RCS Messages for 9 months. Now it says my device isn't compatible. When I try to turn on RCS Chat it just says trying to verify my phone number. Setting up

I have tried
Uninstall latest Updates
Turn on Airplane mode
Clear Cache and Data
Restart Phone
Turn off Airplane mode

Thx

Are you using Samsung messages or Google messages?

Could be a carrier problem or possibly a sim problem

Hi Sniffer1,

Thanks for confirming. Since you’re using Google Messages, RCS chat setup depends on both Google’s servers and your carrier’s support. If it stays stuck on “Verifying number,” please check the following:

  • Ensure Google Messages is set as your default SMS app.

  • Confirm your phone number is correct in the RCS settings.

  • Update Google Messages and Google Play Services to the latest version.

  • Try toggling Wi-Fi/mobile data or resetting network settings if needed.

If it still won’t verify, it’s usually a carrier-related issue, and contacting your carrier would be the next step.
