Green line on S20+

Hello,

Today morning 11th of july 2022, all of sudden my phone showing green vertical line.

Can anyone please suggest me what to do with this issue, I tried restarting which couldn't resolved.

I bought this phone 2 years back and never dropped or never in contact with water.

Last week on 5th of july there was one security update, which I updated.

Sad to see another S20+ with this problem. Quite common this year. There is no solution provided by Samsung other than you forking out for the hardware replacement since it was already out of warranty. Is like the plague that hit Galaxy S3 with eMMC bug which causes Sudden Death Syndrome. It was very common when you google it. But Samsung never issued a recall nor compensation as most start dying on the 2nd or 3rd year of use. I have 3 units of them in their respective boxes, all dead. No idea what actions I can take other than moving on to another device from them.

If you can get a cheap repair go for it. As i know the repair (aka change display) from Samsung Malaysia cost about RM 800 and above.

Sad to say you are not the only one. Samsung will surely ignore the issue even with or without noticing them because the device is out of warranty.

Hi, if it is about the security update that make your screen turn like this, you might need to ask Samsung Service center to solve the issue, I am using note 9, even with many drops still fine, your case it might be Software issue or something else, well I recommend you visit service center, maybe they can give u an update which is more stable.

My Samsung Galaxy S20+ also got Green line, two days ago one green line, today 2 green line T-T

Me and my bad mouth I guess S20+ kena jor even severe just now. Whole screen even after restart only displaying white colour only. Now lock screen which was dark coloured wallpaper is pure eye piercing white. Time to ask xia Oggy LCD glass if they got new display replacement20220712_163021_25833_1657614621.jpg

Yup, cannot see anything so cant do nothing. Is just a brick right now that blasts white colour even when sitting there in locked mode.

It seems more lines are appearing. Mine started with 1. Now after several weeks of that, in total there are 5. 3 green and 1 white. The service center quoted rn1k for screen replacement. With that amount I feel like jumping to another brand. Been a galaxy user since the 1st release but the lack of support provided to this defect is just unfair.

Hi there, as of July 2022, you can go to Samsung Service centre to request for a new screen free of charge, out of warranty also no problem!

Condition which I was told is :
1. Must be S20+ & has the green line issue, if it's flickering or full blank they won't charge but no harm calling to SC to ask.
2. You have to leave your phone there as they say have to check with HQ to determine whether your phone has any dents or cracks, then only they see whether can claim free of charge screen.
3. This programme is until end of the year 2022
4. I've called Sunway/Pavillion/LowYat & 3 also say can do, you can call any others to confirm whether can change for free or not.

Fyi, they told me that need to leave phone there for 7-9 days, but I got a call 2 working days to pick it up later 👍🏻
