Hello, for some reason my S7 is acting up. The home button works, but only when I press it for a second time. Its still very tactile but for some reason some clicks don't register.

Rebooted phone
cleared cache
uninstalled recently downloaded apps
rebooted again
still acting up.

I'll probably take it in to a service center but I can't really afford to be phone less for a week so tips would be helpful.

It could be dirt if the home button is working intermittently - It could be a hardware issue that is creeping in - You could try a Factory Reset (although this is one occasion where I'm doubtful it would help)..
you can try using an on screen Nav Bar app from the store (doesn't require Root) for the time being 🐧
If you are Rooted - You can edit the build.prop - Open with text editor - scroll down to the bottom and add:

qemu.hw.mainkeys=0

Save & Exit - Reboot

That's what I'm thinking... hopefully this isn't going to be a repeat of my old iPhone. I have onscreen nav buttons for now but I'm not going to consider them a permanent solution.

Get device insurance. If it's anything like Tigers new phone the next day. With premium coverage $200 and it has to be the newest model available. Great way to upgrade 😉

lol - I'm not so sure if advertising the use of device protection to "upgrade" your device is a good idea... (wondering if any of the Carriers have someone "monitoring" Samsung Members...) 🤔

I really hope this isn't saying what I think it says...
are you telling me I should upgrade my phone with device insurance to fix my home button? Because that would be a terrible solution.

Hey @JohnH, this seems to be a hardware issue. Could you please contact your local Samsung Service Center (http://www.samsung.com/ca/support/servicelocation/) for physical inspections. Thanks!
