1. Over processed images and video not only on camera but whilst surfing the web. Everything looks super airbrushed and forget about enhancing the image with Gemini as low grade images and even some higher grade images come out linear looking and cartoonish.

2. Far less ability to take quality pictures in dark settings. Lots of detail is lost in the dark.

3. Insane battery drain even when phone is idle or unplugging after 100% looking at a photo and seeing it drop into the 90s.

4. No longer being able to seamlessly call an individual in my contact list by using the hey Google command. Sometimes it will ask me who I want to call and other times it will give me a list of locations on the internet. Other times still it will call the wrong number. Randomly, it will seamlessly call one of my contacts as it used to before the update but this is rare.

5. Editing photos via detail with automatic filters are terrible. The auto function turns images incredibly saturated and Incredibly dark.

6. No longer seamlessly able to press the share button whilst sharing a video or photo directly to a person in my contact list. It just goes directly to my recent calls. The only way around this is to Click Share, copy the address or image and then step two is to click on the messages icon and then step three is to select the person from the contact list. Even if I am sending multiple text to that individual I still have to repeat these extra steps it doesn't automatically recognize like it used to before the update. Actually, this might even be considered a four-step process as when I am step 3 I have to scroll through all of my contacts to select the person I want to send a shared item with through Messenger. If I'm sending multiple items through multiple texts that individual does not go at the top of my contact list meaning every single time I have to scroll through my entire contacts to find the person I am sending photos or images to.

7. Display looks terrible part of this is because of the hypersaturated pictures so even my ambient wallpaper has super high contrast on it the default lighting is very bright and if I lower it to Midway like I used to before the update everything looks even more terrible. The widgets added to my lock screen such as time and date moon phase Etc are larger. Folder icon images and app image placeholders do not look professional but rather childish. Very unappealing. Everything is too big.

8. Wifi Constantly dropping or lagging causing slow performance when watching videos.

9. Receiving voicemails or texts without notification on occasion

10. Even after voice retraining and clearing my cache partition in safe mode, and continue to have issues with hey Google and also with speech to text. I know that there are two different keyboards that you can choose from the Samsung keyboard or the Google before the update and I believe that still the case but I remember giving up on the Samsung keyboard because when I tried to speak punctuation like Dot it would come out like. See what it just did there? Same thing with....period.

11. Again as I've already mentioned all images are over processed and look AI rather than human or animal, I am also finding whilst using hey Google that the AI Gemini often answers completely different things than what I'm asking. Other times hey Google will ask me to unlock my phone first before it can answer me. Basically every single useful feature of this phone that set it apart from so many other phones have been removed and denigrated. It's akin to going back in time with video game consoles like Nintendo and Mario Brothers with the latest quasi realistic gaming.

I've already found the work around thanks to this forum on how to stop that awful split screen but the S Series is supposed to be known for cameras that far exceed iPhones I adamantly agree. My Samsung 24 used to be an incredible phone now everything just looks cartoonish unrealistic and I can't take quality photos and I can't really use the phone throughout the day without charging it more than once. I am located in Canada and I just had my update rollout last month. Very disappointed. Just wondering how many other people are having these issues and what have you done to get around it?

Hi unsung70,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your detailed feedback. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing with your Galaxy S24 following the recent update. Your experience is important to us, and we appreciate your patience as we work to improve your device.

Please try the below suggestions that may help address the issues:

Camera and Image Processing: Please try resetting your camera settings via Settings > Apps > Camera > Storage > Clear Data & Clear Cache. This can often resolve overprocessing and quality issues. Also, ensure your camera app is updated to the latest version.

Battery Drain: We recommend reviewing your battery usage in Settings > Battery and Device Care > Battery to identify any apps consuming excessive power. Enabling Adaptive Battery and Power Saving Mode can help extend your battery life.

If problems persist, consider performing a device restart or a cache partition wipe (power off > hold Volume Up + Power button) to clear temporary files.

Connectivity & Wi-Fi Issues: Restart your router and device. Reset network settings via Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Make sure your device firmware is up to date by checking for available updates in Settings > Software Update.

Google Assistant & Voice Recognition. Retrain your voice model: open Google > Settings > Voice > Voice Match. Clear cache for the Google app: Settings > Apps > Google > Storage > Clear Cache. Re-enable Google Assistant in your settings.

Sharing & Contact Interaction: We understand that sharing has become less seamless. This behavior may be related to recent updates; however, we're working on improvements. You can try updating your messaging apps.

Display & UI Changes: Adjust display and font settings in Settings > Display > Font Size and Screen Zoom. To improve visual quality, consider changing wallpapers and themes as desired.

Notifications & Voicemail: Ensure notifications are enabled for your messaging and voicemail apps in Settings > Apps > app name > Notifications. Clear app caches if needed.

Speech-to-Text & Voice Commands: Retrain your voice model via Google > Settings > Voice > Voice Match. Consider switching keyboards if recognition issues continue.

If these issues persist, we recommend performing a factory reset after backing up your data. If you'd prefer, visit your local Samsung Service Center for further assistance.

Thank you so much for your reply. Most of these I have already tried but some I have not yet tried. I'm grateful for your response because it can be quite frustrating to have a phone in 2025 where I can't seamlessly call or send anything to anyone without actually having to physically touch my phone. Sort of renders the hey Google irrelevant and takes the phone back to the 1990s. Thanks again.

The options I had not previously tried I tried and nothing changed. At this point I just like to go back to the previous version before the 7.0 UI rollout. Is there a way to do that? Is there also a way to talk to a human being at Samsung rather than a bot? This phone is awful now.

As to the battery, I refuse to downgrade to eco mode and downgrade in any other fashion just to have my phone work like a normal phone or work like it worked before the rollout. This feels like a huge step backward.

You can try resetting your modem or router and then clear your cache partition on your phone in Safe Mode as described above and see if that makes any difference. I also like to go into device care and instead of hitting optimize now first I go into the memory and clear that and then I'll go back into the optimization. You can try doing it in reverse order I don't really think it makes a difference. That's just how I do it. Also you can try clearing your storage also in device care. If you press the storage you can find your trash can and you can empty anything you don't need in the trash can. You also might need to do a reset but you'd want to back up all of your data first. If none of this works try starting a new post for better visibility and more people can give more options if none of this works and you don't want to do the reset route. Hope you are able to fix it!
