How to disable pop up message notification.

I was just wondering if anybody could help me by giving me the instructions on how to disable this every single text message I get comes as a pop up on my screen

Toggle it off in "Smart pop-up view" in Advanced features

yes I've tried that and it just comes up with a black message notification.
