Galaxy SI have had a Samsung Galaxy S10 for a few months now and am using Lebara as the provider.
My problem is that each time there is a software update then it uses up my mobile data allowance.
Is there a setting on the phone to prevent this and force it to only ever download the update over WiFi?
The only setting I can find that seems like it is relevant is "Auto download over Wi-Fi", which is on the Software update page. I am pretty sure I had set this on but this morning it did a small (384MB) update and even though I connected to WiFi it still used up mobile data. Also, when I checked after the update this setting was off.
Previous updates have been much bigger and been catastrophic for my data allowance!
Any help would be appreciated.

Galaxy SIsn't Lebara a UK ISP?
This is Samsung Members Canada, in case you were not aware.
When there's an OS Update available, if you have Toggled OFF "auto download on WiFi", you should see that there is an update pending download & waiting for a WiFi connection. It should not be downloading using Cell Data on it's own.

Galaxy SA simple way to make sure you don't use Mobile Data to download updates would be to toggle Mobile Data off before downloading either in the pull down menu from the top of the screen or going to Settings, Connectionsn Data Usage, Mobile Data and turn it off

Galaxy SExpert Level 5 sarcasm. I love it.
Anyway one misclick caused me to download 1 GB data on mobile network in 10 seconds.
And there is no settings that would prevent that. Because there in no such app named Software Update to prevent it from using mobile data. That app exists only in mobile data usage screen.

Galaxy SWell, there is the warning, and the the option to Toggle ON Download automatically over WiFi. It's Toggled OFF on my device, because I want to control when OTAs are downloaded.
You could have PAUSED the download over Data, until you had a WiFi connection.
