Galaxy SConsidering that S22U has been upgraded several times from OneUI 4, the S23U is the pre-installed original OneUI 5.1 system, this is a little bit weird. I think Samsung has designed different system sizes according to the different capacity, however I don't know what the purpose is.
In fact, this has also caused many discussion in China. More examples refer to Samsung's strategy: 256G devices occupy about 35-40G, and 512G or 1T devices may occupy up to 70G. Some people think it is similar to the SSD we bought. For example, the 1T on the label may only be displayed as 970G on the PC, due to different conversion methods (1kb=1024byte vs 1kb=1000byte).
I think it is a noteworthy issue, and Samsung may be able to do better in this regard, by minimize system or clearly introduction. Also please don't worry about that when you decide to purchase, it's really a good phone!

Galaxy SMy S22 Ultra w/ 512 GB has 59.57 GB of System storage
The S23 Ultra w/ 512 GB has 56.40 GB of System storage
I'm guessing the S22 Ultra has a bit more cached or temp files since it's a year old compared to the S23 Ultra being newer and less filled with caching.
