We all know about the screen problems Samsung has, they crack if you look at them sideways. My S21 Ultra broke in my pocket a few months after I got it. No bumps, no impacts. No warranty coverage either.

In the USA, Samsung has set aside one week a year where they offer very inexpensive screen repairs (no doubt to address this issue). This year, it was $49.99 US to repair your screen if it was Galaxy S9 or newer.

Last year, it was $100 to repair your cracked screen for $99 if it was an S8 or newer.

I contacted Samsung Canada to ask if they ever had any similar promotions. Nope. Never. No  mention of any plans to help Canadian customers either.

Not only that, but screen repair is normally much less expensive in the USA.  For an S21 Ultra 5G, the US screen repair price is listed at $289 USD (about $372 CDN)

In Canada the exact same repair is going to run you $436.

If you're thinking about buying any more Samsung products, as a Canadian, I'd think again. Samsung Canada isn't interested in keeping their customer base. Personally, I've owned several Samsung phones over the years. A few weeks ago, when I needed to buy a tablet, I went with iPad. Getting a Samsung tablet wasn't even a consideration.

I don't expect anyone from Samsung Canada will care that I've moved on to their competition, they have shown time and time again they they don't value Canadian customers. Just remember that when it's time to buy your next device.

Too bad about your bad luck..

I've owned just about every Samsung phone since 2011, except for the Note 7 🔥 lol

Never had a screen crack, scratch, smudge or anything else.

Yup, sounds like you were just "unlucky".. 🙄

That is most unfortunate, man. I confess that my screens have held out well for years, too, despite not using screen protectors (they've only been a hassle for me), but I can definitely attest that warrantee coverage and the related advanced technical support/repairs in Canada tend to be pretty subpar (understatement!) compared to the U.S. or other places in the G7... good luck!

Screens are just as expensive to get repaired at Apple, they do have a better warranty though. But without it, you're going to be quite surprised I think.

Yeah, in the past 5 years Samsung has gone downhill. Their products not special anymore, horror in every product launching and extremely terrible customer service. S21U will be my last Samsung product, I'm switching to Pixel for sure.
