Since the pie update :

Camera fails to save photos
Camera is lagging and choppy
Camera takes ~30 seconds to close
Camera wont switch to video mode

YouTube videos keep stuttering
Gallery videos keep stuttering
Any app that produces audio keeps stuttering (I use a noise app to sleep and it keeps just closing as well)

Keyboard takes 10 seconds for input to be recognized 50% of the time

Battery life has dropped from 93% to 84% just typing this

"Samsung Galaxy Apps" has been installing for an hour?

Basically, phone is acting like its 5 years old and obsolete. It's an S9

Backup your device with Smart Switch - Move everything that you need or want to the external sd card or computer - Power OFF your device - Press Power + Bixby + Volume UP to Boot into Recovery - Use the Volume button to scroll down to Factory Reset (don't worry about the red text) - Select Factory Reset with the Power button - Wait until it's finished (just a few seconds) Reboot & Sign into your account & Restore your apps - Settings etc with Smart Switch.

One UI is miles better than Oreo!

I am already using OneUI as far as I know, I had 2 updates in the last month (One was the One UI / Pie update and a security update)

Format my phone because of Samsung updates? Never heard of that before, I am not going to do that as a first solution.

I will try removing some non-essential apps one at a time and updating the rest manually first and report back

It's a suggestion based on the issues that you are reporting & Normally after a Significant Update such as an Android version update - it's recommended if you are experiencing the issues that you are.

Thank you, and sorry for that message lol. I reread it and it looks snarky. Just having a bad time for the last few days with this damn phone and I think it's getting the best of me lol.

Also want to report that the camera and keyboard lag seem to have fixed after I uninstalled "PC Companion App" from Microsoft.

It was consistently trying to sync to PC since Pie update, which explains crappy battery and stuttering.

I suspect that the update made a change to wifi hand-shakes or power mgmt and Microsoft hasn't updated their software to work with it. I'm going to report it to them as well.

Again, thanks. Everything seems fine now after deleting PC Companion App

They removed the button giving ability to record video in pro mode (and other picture modes) and you now have to swipe to their "new" video mode that is no better than what I had on my S5.
