So my mom went down to New York recently and lost her phone.

Is there a way to actively track the phone.

I used find my in both samsung account and google account.

The last ping came up at laguardia airport at 2pm, but has since gone offline. Is there a way to track it further.

If the phone is not on (turned off or the battery died) then you won't be able to track it.

I don't think the battery died.

Also if someone else got a hold of the phone the only way to turn off the device would require pin. I am guessing, which the won't have the pin so i don't think the device is off

They could also pull the SIM card, which could affect whether it can be tracked.

Hi ivanchow4,

We are sorry to hear about your mom's lost phone.

Unfortunately, if the phone is powered off or the SIM card has been removed, active tracking won't work until it's turned on and connected to the internet again.

Regularly check the tracking services, as someone might power it on or return it to a connected network.

Thank you.

When it's back online, yes you can erase the device if you log into the Samsung find my phone website.
