Text messages won't send or receive unless phone is turned off and on. Tried what was in the notices for the S9 fix, however,

steps 4 and 5 did not exist. Did a factory reset and still the same problem. Help!

Strange when you open up the apps manager and select messages it has three dots and uninstall updates...I'm unfortunately going with user error on this one. 4827c3c3-e4dc-4738-acfd-24b31dc70290.jpg

Go to Playstore and download 'Android Messages' app. Open that and select it as default. Then try sending/receiving messages. See if the issue persists. I think it should fix the problem.
Also, Android Messages is actually better than current Samsung Messages.

Amanda, that means you didn't update Samsung Messages at all. Try to update it. S Messages is in my opinion much better than Android Messages, but to each his own taste
