Sorry, Samsung - spare me the marketing and sales attempts. I had every Note phone since the Note 3, now I'm on my Note 10 plus, but I'm not buying another Samsung phone until you bring back support for SD card storage expansion on the Note/Ultimate series, and don't try to preach about how I can always use cloud storage, because:

1. I can't if I'm offline, which as an avid camping and outdoors person - I often am, and;

2. Most cloud services that I use (Google Drive, onedrive, etc.) still fill up my storage with a copy of the files I have online, so I still need the extra storage space. And;

3. Considering that the major Canadian service providers like Rogers or Bell only offered the phones in 128gb or 256gb (and only recently added only the 512gb option, so not even 1gb) - that local storage is simply not sufficient:

4. Finally - as you can see from numerous forums - your consumers HATED that you did that, so you obviously stopped respecting what we think and actually want and need.

So until you stop trying to "out-cool" Apple ("let's make our phones ridiculously thin - like iPhones! Oh - that causes them to burn up like the Note 7, RIP? Who cares! It looks cool!" Or "Let's build it with no bezel or so little of it that no human hand can even just hold the phone without causing unwanted input? Who cares! It looks cool!", Or "Let's make our phones from all slippery glass that no one can hold securely without dropping the phone. Who cares? It looks cool!", neither of which I'm sure most Note users ever asked to have and do not appreciate you forcing us to have) - until then - count me out of your "ecosystem"!

You went from offering the most "business-user focused-solutions", certainly after BlackBerry got out of the game, to coming up with the same, not just useless - but outright bad "hype-centric" design like Apple phones are - you will likely never be as "cool" as Apple is, but I don't think the average Samsung Note or S Pen enabled (and supporting storing it in the device) "Ultimate" user ever cared about that, but something tells me you never bothered to ask us. At least not that I'm aware of.

While I'm talking about stupid consumer-ignoring decisions that only try to imitate Apple, which is like jumping off the school building roof just because the "cool jock did it":

Who's the genius that thought it was smart to get rid of the 3.5mm headphone jack, just because the "Cult of the Apple" did? Did you survey your users first? Did you bother to check if the headphone manufactures even support USB C headphones, or like the SD nonsense - you unilaterally decided that we're all nudists, and should walk around "au naturel" - that everything should be done "virtually", only online, or only without any wires, even if that meant we now ended up being slaves not only to charging the phone, but also to charging headphones, just to listen to music or handle calls - assuming we can even find the same selection of headphones like there was for those with a "standard" 3.5mm jack???

It's one thing to die from a gun wound - it's another when that wound was caused by someone shooting themselves with their own gun. Your gun was Marketing - and you pointed and shot it at yourselves with those stupid moves.

I am quite sure, that nothing is being done about the concerns brought up here.

If these points were brought up repeatedly in the US, Indian, European markets, then there's a chance that they would be taken seriously, at least somewhat seriously.

Unfortunately, the Canadian market is almost an afterthought for Samsung, or so it certainly seems.

That's our fault - us, the people on this forum, because instead of spreading this post and having it read and liked 325,000 times over - it's only 325. If we here don't do the least we can do by turning this into a PR wildfire for Samsung - why should they care about 325 nerds clucking quietly instead of screaming bloody murder?

It's our fault - and Samsung is playing it smart hoping this just stays as it is. 325 people not buying a Samsung flagship phone loses them about $700,000 - which I bet is less than their budget just for one day's worth of coffee and donuts for their offices in North America. If this was 325,000 or even just 32,500 people not buying phones at $2,000 a piece - that would cause them to lose $65,000,000 - and I promise you that if that happened - Samsung would be begging us to buy custom built phones they would hand make for each one of us each one of those with our names embossed on them in 24K gold letters - not to mention it would be designed to address all of the issues that were raised.

It's as simple as that.

Yes I completely agree with you. Samsung by following Apple is losing market. I don't know how Samsung stakeholders are not able to realise that. Why users buy or move to Samsung when it has same options like Apple?
If Samsung wants to follow Apple they can do it but at least I feel like Ultra should be a Samsung fan phone instead of regular flagship.
So, my suggestion to Samsung if they are really listening to their customers release three flagship models with flat screens, same chipsets and same cameras for mass market where people don't care curved screens, stylus etc. Also make Android as simple as possible without much customizations for performance. Utilize the space of stylus to put bigger battery. So these phones will be lite Android, with performance and long battery life to compete with iPhones.

Release the current Ultra phone as a fan edition by adding SD card, stylus, 3.5 mm jack, curved screen, Android customizations etc exclusively for Samsung fans. That way the light Android flagship phones which run smooth, with bigger batteries, performance orientated are targeted for general people who care much for performance and battery life. Whereas Ultra phone is for Samsung fans with all iconic Samsung features which can be bought by Samsung fans.

Agree with everything except the screen. What purpose for a business user, does a curved screen have, besides making it harder to hold the phone without causing unintended input, and preventing the effective reading of documents that have lots of text and details on them that often go all the way to the edge of the pages (and therefor - screen), like many business users work with?

The screen should be fit for the task, which on the "Note" or "Ultimate/aka Note" series isn't just watching movies, but working with documents and text or detailed graphic content rich websites - things like Visio diagrams, business presentations, Word documents and such. It should have enough of a bezel around it to allow a person to hold it securely in one hand, as opposed to watching a movie on it when it's just laying on a table or something, and to allow reading - not just "watching", of the entire screen area while it is handheld.

But - this is what MY personal preferences are, so my advice to Samsung is to at least try to poll their users - and in this case - "business" users specifically, as opposed to "entertainment and gaming" users, I guess, and see what features are really important to enough of us to justify implementing them on the "business-user focused-devices" like what used to be referred to, and I think should go back to being referred to as "Samsung Galaxy Note Series", as such a device is VERY different in its target user-base than the "S" series might be (high-end gaming and multimedia users, as I see it. The more "Apple" type use cases.

I forgot to mention that having a curved screen negates almost the whole benefit of having a stylus, as you can't use the stylus for what it's mostly intended for - writing, on a curved surface, nor can you hold a phone that has no bezel on one hand, while trying to write any amount of meaningful text on it with your other hand using the stylus. The stylus, as even Samsung obviously admits given that it's about the only feature of the "Note" series that it didn't stop offering, is NOT just an expensive and resource (and space) consuming alternative to using your finger like a mouse - it is a writing instrument, and should be supported as such by the platform it is offered on. That, unless you write with your real pen on curved surface blocks of paper, excludes curves screens, beyond the reasons I noted above.

Thank you for your response

The ONLY real justification for having a video or image displaying device to NOT have a bezel is when you connect several of them together to make a sort of "compound yet seamless huge screen" like you would see in airports or bars or any other venue that requires an otherwise very large display that must be comprised of smaller display units. I'm not aware of any other reason to have that otherwise, for all the reasons I listed and probably others that other people might likely have from their own perspective. And regardless - what POSSIBLE use is there for a curved screen (I'm talking about convex screens like on the new phones, not about concave screens like you would use to better surround your field of view for gaming, simulations of things like flight or driving, etc)?

So send this post to all the people you know, ask them to do the same, like, comment, badger Samsung over and over again until they start bleeding money. But hey - this is Canada, where people would apologize to the person that stepped on THEIR foot for daring to stand in their way - we're a country so deeply based on "not rocking the boat" that we all prefer to stop trying to row at all and accept not having the boat move at all in fear of rocking it trying to actually get it somewhere.
