On my S23 ultra, when I hit the navigation bar button to show my open apps, I get a pop-up at the top of my screen for Samsung Notes. How can I stop this from happening?

Hi DarrellM,

To stop Samsung Notes from appearing as a pop-up when you open recent apps on your Galaxy S23 Ultra, disable the “Pop-up view” feature for Samsung Notes in the app settings or multitasking settings.

Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Open the Recent Apps screen by tapping the navigation bar button.

  2. Locate the Samsung Notes window.

  3. Tap the app icon at the top of the Samsung Notes preview.

  4. Select “Open in full screen” or “App info”.

  5. If available, disable “Open in pop-up view” or “Allow pop-up view”.

From Settings

  1. Go to Settings > Advanced Features > Labs.

  2. Look for Multi-window for all apps or Pop-up view gestures.

  3. Disable any settings that allow apps to open in pop-up view by default.

From Samsung Notes App Info

  1. Long-press the Samsung Notes icon.

  2. Tap “App info”.

  3. Scroll to “Open by default” or “Permissions”.

  4. Disable any settings related to floating windows or pop-up behavior.

  • If the issue persists, try clearing the app cache: Settings > Apps > Samsung Notes > Storage > Clear Cache.

  • Ensure your device is running the latest software update.

  • You can also try resetting app preferences: Settings > Apps > Menu (⋮) > Reset app preferences.
