When I get calls from numbers not in my contacts they sometimes say number verified yet it doesn't tell me who it is that's calling. What exactly is this number verified thing?

In short, It simply means that it's legit number verified by google and not a spoof call.

Not that I'm aware of.... Maybe it's a Telus thing? It's new anyways, maybe a few weeks it's been doing it...

Nevermind, just did a search, it requires Google Phone app and enable spam and call feature.
