Galaxy SSince you have a car, I figure you'd at least give the community more information to help you out here.
Make, Model, year.
Helpful to know which sync system your car uses,
Since this worked before and recently I'm wondering if this failed with S23 series update just 48hrs ago or with the 1st week January update?
Also what phone model(s) you have that are affected?

Galaxy SHi Angyl,
That’s a great suggestion! Resetting the car’s infotainment system can clear any glitches or corrupted Bluetooth connections.
Reset Your Car's Infotainment System:
Look for a reset option in your car's settings (usually under Bluetooth or System).
If there's no built-in reset, try holding down the power button for 10+ seconds (varies by model).
Some vehicles may require a factory reset, which can be found in the manual or settings.
After resetting, re-pair your phone and car via Bluetooth, making sure to allow all message-related permissions. Hopefully, this resolves the issue!
Thank you RobertZ.

Galaxy SGo to Settings > Apps > Messages > Notifications and ensure they are enabled.
Go to Settings > Bluetooth > [Your Car's Connection] and check if "Messages" is enabled. Some cars have a toggle for text messages separately from calls.
2. Re-Pair the Bluetooth Connection
Forget your car's Bluetooth in your phone's settings and re-pair it.
Restart both your phone and your car's infotainment system before re-pairing.
3. Enable SMS Sync in Android Auto (If Used)
If your car uses Android Auto, check Settings > Connected Devices > Android Auto > Messages and make sure message notifications are allowed.
4. Check Battery Optimization & Permissions
Settings > Apps > Messages > Battery and ensure it’s Not Optimized (some power-saving features block notifications).
Check App Permissions (Settings > Apps > Messages > Permissions) and ensure SMS and notifications are allowed.
5. Try a Different Messaging App
If you use a third-party messaging app, switch to Samsung Messages or Google Messages and see if the issue persists.
6. Check Your Car's Settings
Some cars have their own message settings. Check your car’s Bluetooth or infotainment settings to ensure text message notifications are enabled.
If none of these steps work, a recent software update might have caused the issue. Let me know if you've updated your phone recently, and I can help troubleshoot further!

Galaxy SThat is exactly what is happening with me. "Text messaging is updating".
Samsung galaxy S23, brand new Nissan x trail.
Messages did work. Stopped working, tried whole pile of things including clearing the cache and got messages back.
Lasted a couple of weeks and now I just get messages are being updated again.
I have literally done everything suggested that I can and nothing works.
When I connect my partner's Oppo phone to my car, everything works fine and messages display.
So it appears to be a Samsung issue.
