I am experiencing an issue with the orientation of my photos within the gallery application. Specifically, when viewing images in a horizontal orientation, the photos rotate in accordance with the physical tilt of the device. Please note that the device's auto-rotation feature is disabled; therefore, this behavior appears to be isolated to the gallery application. Could you please advise on how to resolve this?

Oh One UI 7, if portrait mode is enabled then when you rotate your phone in the gallery app a little icon will appear at the bottom corner. The icon looks like the outline of a phone. Tapping the icon will allow the display to switch to landscape mode.

Do you see this icon being displayed when rotating to landscape mode?

I think I realized the issue. When I take a picture with the camera and view the picture in the camera app it rotates my pictures, however if I go to the gallery the app and view the pictures they dont rotate. So it's not an issue with the gallery application it's the camera app and how it rotates the pictures in the camera app not the gallery

Hi jernana,

Thanks for the update and the clarification. The camera app often auto-rotates photos in the preview based on device orientation, while the Gallery app displays the saved image as is. This is expected behavior.

If you find the camera preview rotation disruptive, check the camera app settings to see if there’s an option to disable auto-rotation or preview rotation. Also, keeping your camera app and device firmware updated can help ensure the best experience.

If you need further assistance, feel free to ask!
