Ported phone number

Hey guys, I just spent 2 hours trying to troubleshoot with Freedom Mobile for my mom and I'm out of suggestions and patience and hoping you guys can help! So, she ported over her number, it works on everything but Samsung Messages. When she calls, WhatsApp, or texts through Google Messages, it shows the correct #, but when she texts through her preferred app, Samsung Messages, it shows the temporary Freedom #.

Oh no way! I don't get why it wouldn't work still though until they do phase it out.. still weird. But thank you for the info.

Yeah, i just shift like 2 days ago as samsung messages will not get any further updates. So 😞 disappointing

I'm with Freedom, and Samsung Messages has been working fine. Maybe wait a few more hours to see if it changes to the correct number, or reboot the phone.

I had to go in and delete the temporary number in the settings somewhere. Can't remember now.
I think its under your account in Samsung messages. I know I had to delete that temporary number before I coukd get text to show under the correct number.

See, that's the weird part. There's only one # showing under my Samsung account, and it's the correct one... I'm so confused.

What it ended up doing was switching back to Samsung messages and then deleting the temporary number and switching back to Google messages. Sorry if that doesn't help but that's what I did.

Sorry to hear this issue from you and appreciate your efforts while trying to resolve the issue.

Please reset Default Messaging App to Google Messaging app and restart the phone to re-establish a fresh connection with Freedom Mobile’s network.

Thank you. But it's there any way to make it work with default Samsung messaging? She doesn't want to use Google messages unless she absolutely has to.
