I’ve started to notice a rattling sound coming from my Galaxy S24 when I shake it pretty hard. It sounds like something loose, maybe like a battery, but I doubt that’s the case. The sound seems to come from the center of the phone.

Now, I’ve done some research, and it’s definitely not the camera lens (already ruled that out). For context, the phone is very new – I got it in September – but I did drop it once.

Has anyone experienced something similar or know what this might be?

Pretty sure it is the Camera that is making the noise.

My S24 also makes a noise when you shake it hard but I think it is normal with nothing to worry about

Hi Kathrin1,

The rattling sound you're hearing in your Galaxy S24 is likely normal and not necessarily related to the drop. In most cases, this sound comes from components like the optical image stabilization (OIS) system or autofocus mechanisms in the camera module.

These components are designed to move slightly and can make a faint rattling noise when the phone is shaken.

Please look for physical damage on the frame or back of the phone. If the sound has gotten louder or the phone behaves abnormally (e.g., random reboots, overheating, weak vibration motor, or poor camera stabilization), it may indicate damage.

Please visit a Samsung authorized service center for an inspection by using the link given above. Let them know about the drop, so that they can check the phone to confirm if any components are loose.

Thank you.

If you're absolutely certain that it's not the Camera Stabilization, then the obvious answer is that you dropped it.

Visit a Samsung Service Centre to get it checked out by a tech.
