you'll have to download a third party app

I would be VERY careful with call recording due to privacy, if the other party does not know the call is being recorded....it could leave you in some hefty fines...

no that is not correct in Canada... only one party needs to conscent and that can be the person recording. Illegal is if both active parties didn't consent. In others words, someone was recording a call of two people, and neither person was aware being recorded.

so @Fatwa correct me if I'm wrong. if I call you and I know for myself I'm recording this call, but I don't tell you and you are not aware at all and I recorded the entire conversation without you knowing....that's legal?

Correct. This is called single party consent, and it is perfectly legal in Canada.

Again, you need to be in the conversation, as opposed to intercepting it.
