Rogers Security Patch update 01/28

Looks like Rogers =and the rest of the Canadian Carriers) have finally pushed the January Security Patch for the S8+.

It's a tiny update ~45.38 Meg (for Rogers anyway).
Just a Reminder - IF you have ANY Substratum Themes Installed - UNINSTALL them BEFORE you install the Security Patch update 😉🐧

be nice to see oreo update ; seems there needs to be a better way to get OTA updates being carriers in Canada take there sweet ass time

Yeah I agree with you - We know that we can Flash the US version of the Oreo beta - But that's a bit of a pita - Kinda sad that Rogers was clueless regarding the January Security Patch update - They last updated their OS Update Schedule on Friday and there's nothing mentioned about the S8+ Security Patch update lol - Even contacting them via Twitter - They didn't have any idea and worse they didn't seem to give a crap...
We know that we can Flash any of the other Canadian Firmware releases (if one from another Carrier is out sooner) But downloading ~ 3 - 4 Gig and Flashing with Odin vs a Download of ~ 50 Meg is a no brainer 🐧

i don't know what it is but this new update is very responsive even the iris scanner is absolutely faster!

Some things that are related to Security may be improved as this update was a Security Patch update (and nothing more) I normally boot into Recovery after any updates and Wipe Cache (which is likely to be a short lived benefit) But for Rogers the update was less than 50 Meg - So there's not really much that could be really changed.. IMHO 🐧

Funny thing is that I contacted Rogers last Friday and they said that there was no new information regarding the January Security Patch - And even this morning Rogers Community OS Update Schedule still didn't show any for the SM-G955W.. And that was after I'd already Downloaded & installed the January Security Patch - lol 😂
