My sister has a Samsung S23 Ultra, she used it very carefully for 2 years, then gave it to me. She reset the phone before giving it back. It's been 3-4 days and the battery is draining quickly. It's Android 16 One UI 8, and she also used a non-original charger for a year. Why do you think the battery is draining so fast? I'm very embarrassed.

Probably have apps running in the background draining, need to optimize battery usage.

Yeah most likely the apps and also take a look at virtual memory and battery settings. I have the same phone. Also, AOD kills it fast and having NFC on drains it fast. Plus your phone needs to learn your usage habits as well so it can optimize itself properly. That takes a good month.

Hi wxyahmet,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. We understand how concerning it can be to notice rapid battery drain, especially after receiving a device that has been well cared for.

When a Galaxy device is reset and set up again, the system may run background processes such as app updates, data synchronization, and optimization. These activities can temporarily increase battery consumption during the first few days. Additionally, extended use of non-original chargers can impact long-term battery health, which may contribute to reduced performance.

We recommend monitoring the device for a short period to see if the battery stabilizes once background tasks are complete. You can also review Settings > Battery and device care > Battery usage to identify if specific apps or services are consuming more power than expected. For the best results, we strongly advise using an original Samsung charger and cable.

To further maintain battery health, please follow the steps outlined in the official Samsung guide here: https://www.samsung.com/ca/support/mobile-devices/what-to-do-when-your-samsung-galaxy-device-battery...

If the issue persists, we encourage you to contact Samsung Support or visit an authorized service center for a full battery health assessment. We truly empathize with your situation and appreciate your patience as you work through this. Our goal is to ensure you continue to enjoy the best possible experience with your Galaxy device.
