Galaxy SHello samsung forms, came here wondering if anyone else has had this same problem with their S20. And maybe a little tech support. After almost every new update I get, my phone charges for about 20 seconds, then stops. Cleared partitian cache, tried different chargers, checked settings, nothing. Seems like the security updates and updates in general keep breaking my phones ability to charge temporarily, was a few days last time, so far not permanently. Anyone else having this?

Galaxy SI'd start by Opening the Samsung Members app & Click on Support >Phone Diagnostics & run the Diagnostics for USB Cable Charging. See if you get any error messages?
I would suspect the USB cable, or Charging Block, or even the device's USB port.
Super Fast Charging works perfectly on my S20 Ultra. There has been no negative effects from any Security Patch Updates.
What you are describing sounds much more like a hardware issue, ie: cable, charging block or USB port.

Galaxy SHi onthecircuit, it might be the case that your Galaxy S20 detected that the internal temperature rises significantly after updating the software, hence stopping the charging process in order to protect the battery. However, if the issue happens permanently or pretty frequently, in addition to Helenna and RedDogRabbit's solution, you may also want to check your device with an authorized Samsung technician to see if the root cause is the S20's hardware (i.e. the USB-C port).
