S20 Ultra - white/green screen of death

Has anyone experienced, and resolved, this issue with the S20 Ultra?

During random times today, my phone's screen went blank with white and green hues. I had to perform a soft reset to make the phone work normally again. Happened again a few times more today.

I also observed that faint horizontal lines are running on the entire display.

Phone was never dropped, never exposed to moisture, and is protected by an original Samsung case. My unit is out of warranty just this June, and heading to a service center soon is out of the question as I am under quarantine. 

When I searched online, I saw that the issue is more widespread than I thought in S20 Ultra units worldwide.

UPDATE: Samsung initially quoted P17,500 for the display replacement. I asked to have it repaired free of charge, as the damage was not due to my fault. Samsung approved the request! ❤️

Hello! Did the issue repeat after you got your phone screen repaired?

The phone is fine, so far, after five days. I updated to the latest firmware for good measure. I hope the issue's fixed for good!

same thing happened to me.  if the warranty of your unit is expired, you have no choice but pay for the replacement of the screen.

i just bought my unit last march 2020 and for reasons that is not our fault but a defect from samsung, we are paying for the fix for this defect.   

i guess it's time to change brand for this lousy product.

My unit is off-warranty already, but Samsung repaired my unit free of charge.

UPDATE: Got my phone back after just a week! I did not have to pay a peso to have the display and battery replaced.

This is why I trust Samsung's top-notch customer service. Samsung flagship user since Note5 ❤️

Hello how did you get to appeal for Samsung? I'm also having the same issue but they're telling me it's out of warranty and in need for payment.

care to share  where you had the phone fixed? we are having the same issue as yours and would like to have our phones repaired free of charge too since this is more of a manufacturer's issue and not just due to frequent use.

Same here with my S20+ with eSIM activated by Globe. Totally cannot use my number & phone. Happened just last Sunday Oct 3. Warranty ended last March.
