Adding second sim and not losing messages attached from 2nd sim,

I have a S21 with a sim, and a S9+ with a sim. I want to migrate my S9+ to the S21 2nd sim slot. I do not want to lose the message history attached to my S9+ phone. I use Messages by Google LLC on both handsets. Can this be done without losing messages. I don't mind backing up old phone and restore messages to new phone. Both handsets are setup and running as is, so I do not want to make wholesale changes to both, or either if possible

Hi @labroy74, you can use the Smart Switch app to transfer text messages between devices.

https://www.samsung.com/au/getstarted/setup/transfer-from-your-android-phone/

Please note the S21 is dual SIM with 1 physical SIM slot and 1 e-SIM. If you would like to move your S9+ SIM to your S21 and already have 1 physical SIM card inside the S21, I suggest getting in contact with your provider for assistance in setting up the e-SIM.

Please be aware that due to our Privacy Policy, your device may be factory reset before being assessed. I highly recommend backing up your device via Smart Switch, OneDrive and/or Google to ensure none of your data is lost.
