Don't know if I'd be in a panic over this.

Previous versions of the Linux kernel have been "unlocked", Custom Boot images, Root & SeLinux have already been exploited, mind you it was intentionally done. 

Should also point out that this article is referring to the Snapdragon chip. The Exynos chip has really never needed to be exploited, as Root etc is readily available. 

If however, what the article seems to suggest, that this can be done without the user's knowledge.. that's a different story. 

Obvs more information is required to reach an informed decision.
