In the Camera app, under Video mode, when the initial zoom is 1X and I set it to 10X zoom, the video cannot zoom further, and it is already pixelated, unsharp, and unclear/blurry.

However, when start at 3X (by pressing 3X), and then zoom to 10X, the video image is sharp and made use of the zoom lens.

Pressing 3X or 10X  initially, also seems sharp on 10X zoom and can zoom further.

I thought the camera would take advantage of many zoom lens on this phone?  There is a limitation on 1X to 10X part.

Regarding the settings - I am using 4K 60FPS.  Digital video stabilization off.  I found out that this problem does not happen in 1080P 60FPS mode.  In 1080P 60FPS, the zooming uses all available lens and details are sharp.  This is not the case for 4K 60FPS I found out.  Is this because of hardware limitations due to higher res recording?

Screenshot shows zooming to 10x from 1x above, and video image quality significantly degrades and cannot zoom farther than 10x

If I'm not mistaken, you can switch between optical zooms while recording in 4K 30fps, but not at 4K 60 fps, unfortunately. It is probably a limitation due to the high fps, like you said...

I will have a look at 30fps 4K. As I move higher to more fps and higher res some of the zooming features become lost. Likely hardware limitations. But all zooming features are available at 1080 60fps
