Sharing my experience regarding vertical line repair as there were a few posts where some users managed to get a free LCD replacement for vertical line appearing suddenly; they need to only pay for labour cost.
Unfortunately, Samsung Singapore is no longer offering free LCD replacement for screen with vertical lines, they won't even look at your phone to assess it. If your phone is out of warranty, you will have to pay full amount even if your phone is not damaged.

I went to service center for my 2.5 years old S22 that suddenly appeared a pink vertical line (no drop or any damage to phone) and was quoted about $200 to replace the screen as they no longer offer free LCD screen replacement for vertical line issue. They ask me to email Samsung to feedback. Emailed Samsung about it and they called back saying they no longer offer free LCD replacement since about a month ago, need to pay full amount to repair.

Even though my phone was probably in the same early pre-order batch but my vertical line just appeared later by a month, they denied free LCD replacement.

Kept my phone in excellent conditions and expected to last long with several years of software update but then the screen didn't even last beyond 2-3 years is disappointing.

Hi Nantakkumar,

May I know the outcome for this issue. My S22+ face the exact problem after a software update, and when taken to a samsung shop, they told me it is not under warranty and i was expected to pay the full screen replacement cost. May I know how are we liable for an issue that is not cause by us? I had checked forums and found that this screen is causing problems across the whole world since 2023, mostly due to software update, and Samsung Singapore is now denying responsibility?

So what is the solution provided? We cannot be expected to pay if there is no physical damage

Even though I mentioned to them that I didn't drop or damaged my phone, Samsung Singapore called to just say that I had to pay full cost as my device was out of warranty and that they can help me book a servicing appointment....

I'll update if there any positive news from Samsung Member team but I'm not expecting much

This is terrible product quality with no service recovery. I encountered exactly the same denial of screen replacement through no fault of mine after a software update.

Samsung has to own up to its own quality failure!

Update: Samsung Singapore called again to reiterate that they no longer offer free screen replacement for out of warranty devices.

Definitely made me think twice about future purchases based on their unreliable device quality and customer service

Same reply from support chat, apparently it's for all phone models.
If anyone manage to get free screen replacement recently, do mention it.1727623466907.jpg

i have 2 sets of Samsung S21+ facing the same issue immediately after i was prompted software update.

Samsung deny responsibility and I need to pay SGD450 for each repair since warranty has expired.

Now i am worry whether I should do software update for my other 2 Samsung S23 Ultra .

Samsung management team, if you are reading this. You are losing another customer today if this is how you treat your loyal customer.
