After updating to OneUi 7.0, I have noticed my S23 FE overheates all the time, with surface temperatures easily reaching 48°C with basic tasks, such as texting.

When scrolling Social Media or on Video Calls, or even fast charging (wired), even with the case off, the phone heats up too much

It's unusable at such high temperatures, where it actually hurts your hands to use it.

I have to place my phone next to a fan every once in a while to cool it down, because it is overheating.

I'm not sure why, but according to other sources, the S23FE is not optimized for this update, and has a sealed cooler, often not thermally controlled, instead of newer phones having better cooling systems

Samsung needs to fix this heating issue ASAP, especially as summer approaches, the phone will get even hotter

I have the Samsung Branded Silicone case for this, and 90% of the time, have the case off due to the overheating issues.

I have tried everything, including restricting background usage for all apps, disabling the compass features, deleting all pages and widgets from the homescreen, and even reducing the brightness, but with simple tasks, the phone overheats too much.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

reinstall the correct version of Google services that match the processor and framework of your phone it can be aMB 64 it can be v7 V8 RMBv but if I had to guess I think you installed an application like APK pure and let it also auto update now when usually phones auto update let's say a phone with a processors can support 7 but then it overheats as the load is not properly distributed it happened to me a few days ago so I had to reinstall an older version from pretty much the oldest that I can of Google Play services and not the latest one and as you can see under them if you click on versions in apk pure you can actually choose which version to download and the moment that I have installed this new version which was supposed to be compatible despite the fact that the moment I installed it my phone has turned into what egg grill for doing nothing whatsoever it was so hot I thought it was going to explode on me so make sure that you check that you have the correct framework before you install the application for that framework in my framework I mean like whatever processor whatever structure your phone has

I haven't installed any APKs for anything system wise, even apps, I don't like installing APKs. The firmware I have on my phone is whatever came through Samsung themselves

Hi Nabeel000,

We’re sorry to hear about the overheating issues after the One UI 7.0 update on your S23 FE — we know how frustrating that can be, especially during everyday use.

You’ve already tried many useful steps — thank you for that. In addition, please try the following:

Wipe Cache Partition which can help after major updates:
  - Power off the phone
  - Press and hold Volume Up + Power until the Samsung logo appears
  - Use volume buttons to select Wipe cache partition, then confirm with Power
  - Reboot when done

Battery and Device Care Scan: Go to Settings > Battery and device care > Tap “Optimize now”.  Also, check Background usage limits > Put unused apps to sleep

Submit an Error Report so our software team can investigate: Samsung Members > Support > Send Feedback > Error Reports > Battery/Overheating

We appreciate your detailed feedback — it really helps us work toward a solution. Let us know if symptoms improve after trying the steps above.

Thank you.

I have tried all of these. Currently, I have turned off all AI features available, all auto features, including auto brightness and all background app usage. I have set my phone to light mode, so I am lacking cpu speed, and I have even taken off the case permanently. All of this done, and nothing has worked, my phone still gets to an uncomfortable temperature, and I feel like it may explode or break, especially because the screen turned black and the audio cut out at one point.

Okay so I don't know maybe this reply is old to what you're saying but the thing is you can manually choose let's say for instance if you're using APK for Pure you can manually choose for the correct architecture of your phone and about the device overheating I realized that my phone accidentally because of one single application I downloaded in this APK pure store the entire synchronicity started following that one application but in such a way that the update got followed by automatic updates that came we know one following the other the negatives were in the pros and cons meaning negative. It installed the wrong architecture update if hold the icon any application you can see where it's coming from and if you slide the information down you have an option to uninstall or default back to the factory settings you should verify that it has an auto updated by itself to a possible less performing version by uninstalling updates and then seeing what model it has once the updates are uninstalled because the firmware that should read on it would show the original it is worth checking this however if you use an application to check it will not be correct because that application just checks based on the last updated app many times

Lots of complaints about battery life, lag, overheating etc. with the S23 FE. Search online as you'll get better support than from Samsung.

Try this. Turn off phone > Hold volume up and power button > should boot into recovery mode > clear cache partition > reboot phone
