Thanks for sharing Tallman. I never use these because you're likely using inferior quality plastic or glass over the lens, reducing photo quality or minimizing the effect of any special coatings applied to the lens.
My lens got damaged so I decided to USE protectors and I'm fine now.
Only thing is that there are new special glass or coating on the camera glass to reduce the lens flare. But that isn't the case for protectors. I'd rather deal with a little lens flare rather than having the glass scratched again.
Yours case was odd. I don't use lens protector at all. I was thinking about put it on after reading your post. But now...Ek..whatever...forget it. Just use it until it breaks. 😅
