Galaxy S
I have been trying to connect via wifi direct to my Toyota Dashcam for over 18 months now.
I try to veiw my dashcam footage and it connects but seems to time out. I've been blaming the Dashcam!
However I found a relative with an older S10 and tried same and found that the S10 downloaded my videos.
I paid over $500 for the dashcam and have been blaming Toyota! Obviously I have realized it must be a problem specific to the S24 ultra.
I have tried chat with Samsung with no success.
Can anyone help or point me in the proper direction to find some help with this issue?
Thanks

Galaxy SHi Shiner53,
Since you’ve confirmed the dashcam works with another Galaxy device, this does suggest the challenge may be specific to the S24 Ultra. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
1. Turn off “Switch to Mobile Data”:
- Go to Settings > Connections > Wi‑Fi.
- Tap the three dots (top‑right) → Intelligent Wi‑Fi.
- Turn OFF “Switch to mobile data” and “Switch to better Wi‑Fi networks.”
(This prevents your phone from dropping the dashcam Wi‑Fi because it has no internet.)
2. Enable Location Services for the Dashcam App:
- Go to Settings > Apps > Toyota Dashcam Viewer.
- Tap Permissions → make sure Location is set to “Allow all the time” and Nearby Devices is enabled.
3. Reset Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth Settings:
- Go to Settings > General Management > Reset.
- Select Reset Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth settings.
(Note: You’ll need to re‑enter saved Wi‑Fi passwords afterward.)
4. Try Airplane Mode Workaround:
- Turn on Airplane Mode.
- Then manually turn Wi‑Fi back on and reconnect to the dashcam.
(This forces the phone to use only the dashcam’s Wi‑Fi without interference.)
5. Check for VPN or Security Apps:
- If you use a VPN, ad‑blocker, or carrier security app, disable it temporarily.
(These can block local Wi‑Fi connections.)

Just tried with another S24 ultra and that doesn't work either!
