I know this is not the place to ask, but I might as well ask.
I have a S7 Edge (Canadian version) lying around and I was wondering if I could root it to get Android 10 unofficial?
I know how to root, just was wondering if I could.
Cause my device still works fine.

Thanks for any help

Also it's on the latest security update, (Feb).

Please let me know.

I remember @Shaggyskunk1 saying he had rooted his S7 so it is deffinetly possible.

I suggest you wait for a reply from him as I am sure he can save you alot of problems by describing how to do it

The Canadian S7 series has the Exynos Chipset & the Bootloader is NOT Locked - The US S7 series uses Snapdragon & IS Locked - To Root your device - Basically in Security Toggle the OEM Unlock - Flash TWRP With Odin - Flash either SuperSU or Magisk - Remember that in TWRP you have to FORMAT Data & Not just Wipe & You have to Type "YES" to Format Data..

useful links:

https://download.chainfire.eu/1220/SuperSU/

I've used both Magisk & Chainfire's SuperSU over the years - Chainfire is no longer maintaining SuperSU - But the version in the above link works perfectly - But there may be some advantages to using Magisk as it's still being developed.
