The Canadian S7 series has the Exynos Chipset & the Bootloader is NOT Locked - The US S7 series uses Snapdragon & IS Locked - To Root your device - Basically in Security Toggle the OEM Unlock - Flash TWRP With Odin - Flash either SuperSU or Magisk - Remember that in TWRP you have to FORMAT Data & Not just Wipe & You have to Type "YES" to Format Data..
I've used both Magisk & Chainfire's SuperSU over the years - Chainfire is no longer maintaining SuperSU - But the version in the above link works perfectly - But there may be some advantages to using Magisk as it's still being developed.
