Does anyone else have a problem with transferring files from PC to the s8?

I have the s8+ and my macbook doesnt seem to recognize it. The only way for me to transfer is by using the stupid Smart Switch app.

Also, my car audio doesn't seem to detect my phone either. I can charge by USB cable but can't play medie through the USB.

Hmmm very strange. Have you unlocked the developer options and set phone to USB Debugging Mode? If not that might/should help.

only thing I can think of is because its a macbook LOL
(j.k) but have you tried a different usb cable? Also make sure your setting is enabled on your phone so it acts as a "Media Device" Check your USB Options when plugged in. Do you see any of these options on your phone when plugged in, does it show its charging when plugged into your S8?
For the USB Options, you should see something like Use USB For - Transferring media files, transferring images, connecting MIDI Devices, or charging.

I was thinking that as well LOL dw. It gives me USB options and its always on media device but nothing happens when I plug it into my computee. Even when I try to use the android program for file transfers, it says it cant be detected and to reset or unplug my usb which i do.

to be perfectly honest....it could be a setting on your MacBook and because I am the last person to ask about anything apple related...all I can suggest is try a Google search. I can almost guarantee if you plug it into a Windows pc it will detect instantly. apple products are just.....weird. once again this is just my opinion.

Android is not supported on Macbook. you'll need Android file transfer app from online and use that app to transfer files.
